# Spin to Win

> Spin to Win is a prize wheel with a rolling ball — the classic, highest-converting game. Learn what it is, why it converts, and which stores get the most out of it.

**Spin to Win** is Zestify's prize-wheel game: a visitor spins a wheel divided into segments, watches a ball roll and settle on one, and wins whatever prize that segment holds. It's the most recognizable gamified-popup format, and Zestify's highest-converting game.

## **What It Is**

The wheel appears as a widget on your storefront (see [How to Enable the Widget](/getting-started/how-to-enable-the-widget)). A visitor enters their email to unlock a spin, watches the wheel and ball animate, and lands on a prize segment. That prize becomes a discount code they can redeem at checkout — see [Rewards Overview](/rewards/rewards-overview) for how prizes and odds are set up.

## **Why It Converts**

Spin to Win works because the format is already familiar — most shoppers have seen a prize wheel somewhere before, so there's little explanation needed and instant trust in the mechanic. The spinning animation creates a moment of anticipation before the reveal, which is what makes it feel like a genuine "win" rather than just a discount popup, and is a large part of why it's Zestify's highest-converting game.

## **Best Industries**

Spin to Win's broad familiarity makes it a strong fit across most verticals, particularly:

* **Fashion & apparel** — wide product range, works well with tiered % off segments
* **Beauty & cosmetics** — high repeat-purchase behavior pairs well with return-visitor odds
* **General & multi-category e-commerce** — no niche mechanic to learn, so it fits almost any catalog
* **Higher-AOV stores** — the wheel's "classic" feel reads as trustworthy rather than gimmicky

## **Best Audience**

* Broad, mainstream shopper bases rather than a narrow niche demographic
* Both desktop and mobile visitors — the wheel format reads clearly at any screen size
* First-time visitors who benefit from a well-known interaction pattern with no learning curve

## **When to Choose Spin to Win**

Reach for Spin to Win when:

* You want the safest, most proven default — especially for your first campaign
* Your goal is maximizing email capture conversion over novelty
* You're targeting a general audience rather than a specific younger or trend-led segment

<Note>
  Not sure it's the right fit for your brand? See [Pop to Reveal](/games/pop-to-reveal) for a faster, more playful alternative — or run both and compare results in [Analytics](/analytics/analytics-overview).
</Note>

## **Tips for Best Results**

* Keep segment count reasonable (5–8) so each prize still feels meaningful and the wheel isn't cluttered
* Weight your best-value prizes with lower odds so your everyday discount still appears most often — see [Rewards Tab](/campaigns/rewards-tab)
* Match wheel segment colors to your brand using a [preset or brand kit](/appearance/presets-and-colors) so it feels native to your store, not bolted on

## **How It's Configured**

Spin to Win is set up like any other game in Zestify:

* Pick display rules, pages, and play frequency on the [Game Tab](/campaigns/game-tab)
* Add prizes and set win odds on the [Rewards Tab](/campaigns/rewards-tab)
* Customize wording and design under **Appearance → Spin to Win Appearance** — see [Content Tab](/appearance/content-tab) and [Styles Tab](/appearance/styles-tab)
