# General Settings

> Set store-wide defaults for coupon expiry, the win-screen urgency timer, and whether marketing consent is required before accepting an email.

The **Settings** page (left sidebar > Settings) is where you "set general defaults and build a brand kit for your storefront games." The **General** section covers coupon expiry and urgency defaults that apply across your store.

## **Default Code Expiry**

**Default code expiry (days)** sets how long a discount code stays valid when a specific prize doesn't set its own expiry (for example, 7 days).

## **Urgency Timer**

The win screen shows visitors a countdown for how long their prize is reserved. You control how that countdown is set:

**Use coupon expiry as urgency timer** — when this is on, the win-screen countdown matches each prize's own discount code expiry. When it's off, you set a shorter custom timer below instead.

<Note>
  A custom urgency timer can't be longer than each prize's code expiry (or your default code expiry if the prize doesn't set its own).
</Note>

If you're using a custom timer:

* **Urgency duration** — how long the prize stays reserved on the win screen (for example, 15)
* **Unit** — the unit for that duration, for example **Minutes**

## **Marketing Consent**

**Require marketing consent checkbox before accepting an email** — when enabled, visitors must check a consent box before Zestify accepts their email during a campaign. This pairs with the consent text you set on the [Content tab](/appearance/content-tab) in Appearance.
