Enabling the widget is one of the most important steps in the Get Zestify Ready checklist. Until it’s enabled, none of your activated campaigns will appear on your storefront. This is a one-time setup that takes under two minutes.

What Is the Widget / App Embed?

In Shopify, an App Embed is a small piece of code that apps inject into your theme to load their styles and functionality. For Zestify, the app embed loads the campaign widget — the on-storefront game your visitors play — onto your live store. Think of it as a light switch — your campaign can be created and activated, but until the app embed is switched on, visitors won’t see it.

How to Enable the Widget

  1. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes.
  2. Find your active theme and click Customize.
  3. In the Theme Editor, look at the left sidebar and click the puzzle piece icon (App Embeds).
  4. In the App Embeds list, find Zestify.
  5. Click the toggle to turn it ON.
  6. Click Save at the top of the Theme Editor.
Your widget is now enabled. Any campaign you activate will appear on your storefront according to the schedule and placement you set for it.
If you switch to a different theme later, you will need to enable the app embed again on the new theme. The setting is stored per theme, not per store.
The Zestify dashboard shows a green “Zestify app embed is enabled on your theme” banner once this is active, and a warning banner if it still needs to be turned on.

After Enabling

Once the app embed is saved, no further action is needed for it to keep working — you don’t need to re-enable it every time you create a new campaign. One toggle, one save, and it applies to every campaign you activate on that theme. To confirm it’s working, activate a campaign, then preview your storefront — the widget should appear according to your campaign’s placement settings.
